When a client approaches us regarding an opportunity, we meet with them and, together, discuss the vacancy and agree a role profile and person specification. In this meeting, and from the subsequent 'job shadow' which we conduct at the client's convenience, we are able to learn first-hand about the organisation's culture and values, a sense of pace within the role, and the dynamics between team members.

We agree timescales, a resourcing plan and an interview process. We have a pool of interviewed candidates (and referenced, in the case of temporary staff) available and our dedicated Resourcing Manager actively 'hunts' for the right candidates using major job boards, CV databases and social media.

We interview all of our candidates face-to-face; if we cannot meet them within 48 hours of initial contact, we offer a telephone or Skype interview. Career history, skills, ambitions, motivations and gaps in each employment are questioned and verified. Caraires insists on a minimum of two references for each candidate prior to offering them temporary assignments. References are also used to clarify less tangible aspects such as punctuality, behaviour and team spirit.

A shortlist of 3-4 suitable candidates is then presented to the client along with candidates' CVs and additional recruitment notes, based around our 3-Fit approach.

Candidates are interviewed by our client and Caraires obtains feedback from the candidates, which supports the client with their decision-making process. As well as informing us of who will be offered the role, our clients give feedback to us on all applicants whom they have interviewed.

Feedback is a gift and we use it to support applicants to improve their performance going forward and gain the right role.

We support the candidate through their notice period (if currently employed) and help them manage any counter-offers from their present employer. Within the candidate's first week, a Caraires consultant visits on-site with a 'good luck' gift. We maintain regular contact with both the successful candidate and the client to ensure we have achieved the right match.
